Healthy Motherhood: A Celebration of Mind, Body & Spirit

 

Kansas City, MO- The Maternal and Child Health Coalition will host a luncheon on Monday, May 8, 2006 at the Downtown Marriott Hotel from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. to celebrate the mind, body and spirit of healthy motherhood. The Luncheon will honor Sisters Berta Sailer and Corita Bussanmas from Operation Breakthrough for their dedication and commitment to improving the lives of mothers and children in Kansas City. The event chair is Betty Novak.

 

This event will feature a video message from U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona regarding the importance of healthy motherhood. Also there will be a special performance from singer, Tony Caldarello. He will perform his popular song, “Mother’s Love” during the luncheon celebration. The emcee will be Elizabeth Alex, News Anchor from NBC Action News.

This event will benefit the programs of Maternal and Child Health Coalition including the Kansas City Healthy Start Program, Safe Kids Metro KC, Mid America Immunization Coalition, Breastfeeding Taskforce, and Child Obesity Prevention-Weighing In Coalition.

 

Maternal and Child Health Coalition promotes the health of mothers and children through community planning, education, advocacy and collaboration with organizations addressing infant mortality, immunization, childhood obesity, maternal health and child safety.
