DR. BARBARA CARR

 

Dr. Barbara Carr received her medical degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia.  She completed her Pediatric residency training at Children's Mercy Hospital here in Kansas City.  Her fellowship training in neonatology was done at James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.  Dr. Carr’s research interests include growth/nutrition.

 

Dr. Carr is a member of the March of Dimes Board of Directors where she chairs the Program Services Committee.  She is married and the proud mother of 2 children.

 

Currently Dr. Carr is employed by Pediatrix Medical Group at St. Luke’s Hospital.

DR. DAVID MUNDY

 

Dr. David Mundy received his BS degree from Stanford University and his MD degree from Howard University in Washington D.C.  His post graduate medical education as an intern and resident in Obstetrics Gynecology was done at Emory University and Affiliated Hospitals, in Atlanta, Georgia. He received a fellowship in Maternal and Fetal Medicine from the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, University of Tennessee Memphis.

 

Dr. Mundy is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.  In addition, his background includes extensive teaching, consulting and research work especially in the areas of Substance Abuse in Pregnancy and Hypertension Pregnancy.

 

Dr. Mundy is currently an Assistant Professor and Section Chief of the Division of Obstetrics and Maternal/Fetal Medicine and Director of Obstetrical Ultrasound at Truman Medical Center-Hospital Hill in Kansas City, Missouri.

DR. STRICKLAND

 

Dr. Julie Strickland is currently an Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Missouri Kansas City.  She serves as the Medical Director of the family planning clinic and the Principle Investigator of the Startright/Teen Mom program at Truman Medical Center.  She is also chief of Gynecologic Surgery at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

 

Dr. Strickland graduated from the University of Missouri Columbia Medical School and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology there. She also holds a Masters of Public Health Degree from the University of Kansas.

 

Dr. Strickland has maintained an interest in adolescent health and gynecology, contraception and teen pregnancy.  Complementing her clinical work in those areas, she has published extensively and has served on several local, national and international committees and societies that focus on her areas of interest.
